摘　　要：国家自然科学基金委员会在"十二五"期间与南美国家合作取得了突破性进展,初步建立对南美主要科技大国的合作网络,并联合开展了系列双边合作与交流活动。由于国家自然科学基金委员会对南美地区的合作尚处于起步阶段,在双边合作过程中还面临着一些挑战和问题,本文就具体挑战和问题进行了探讨并提出了相关对策思考。Break-through progress has been achieved in the collaboration between National Natural Science Foundation of China （NSFC） and South America. A series of bilateral cooperation and exchange activities have been launched under the cooperation network built up between NSFC and the main S＆T powers in South America. Being on its early phase, the NSFC-South America cooperation is still facing a number of challenges and issues. With a view to addressing those concrete challenges and issues, this paper is intended to proposing some policy advice.
