美国国会图书馆藏明刻本《江汉堤防图考》的来历及史料价值初探

摘　　要：美国国会图书馆所藏明刻本《江汉堤防图考》,是海内外孤本。是书成于明隆庆二年(1568),图考并重,内容丰富,详述明隆庆年间长江中游地区水利堤防形势及治理过程。该书在清代、民国初年几经辗转,于1923年前后入藏美国国会图书馆。冀朝鼎《中国历史上的基本经济区与水利社会》一书曾引用《图考》内容,并做了简要介绍,由此引发了国内学界对此书的种种推测。此书是了解明中期长江中游段河道变迁、堤防工程、治江策略和堤防管理的重要文献资料,当是目前所知现存最早的一部反映明中叶及以前长江中游地区水利堤防形势的水利专著和图集,对于长江水利史及中国古代地图学史的研究具有重要价值。The blocked--printed edition of Atlas and Notes on Dikes on the Yangtze and Han Rivers （江汉堤防图考） in the Library of Congress from Ming Dynasty is the only existing copy in the whole world. Finished in the 2nd year of Longqing Period, this copy features rich content with de- tailed illustrations, gives an elaboration of the situation and the governance process of water conservancy in the middle reach of Yangtze River during the Longqing Period via essays and pictures. It ends up at the library of US congress after several drifts during Qing Dynasty and the first years of the Republic of China. Key Economic Areas in Chinese History by Ch＇ ao-ting Chi that had made a brief introduction and adopted the ideas of it inspired various estimation on this book in Chinese academic society. This is a very important academic material on the watercourse changes, dike building, river conservation strategy and dike governance of the middle reach of Yangtze River. It is known as the oldest monograph and atlas that＇ s been found that expatiates the water conservancy and dike project in the middle reach of Yangtze River before and during the middle period of Ming Dynasty. It is significant for the study upon the water conservancy history of Yangzi River and ancient China cartography history.
