摘　　要：名字隐喻的含混、丝带意象的含混以及森林意象的含混,是霍桑短篇小说《小伙子古德曼·布朗》中语言含混的显著特征,三者语言的含混性赋予文本丰富而深刻的内涵,有效揭示了小说"人性善恶结合"的主旨,究其语言含混的根源,来自当时霍桑矛盾的思想、复杂的乡土情结和美国超验主义思想的兴起。From three aspects including the ambiguous expression in naming, forest image and ribbon image, the multiple meanings are discussed which reveal the theme of the story that is the combination of kindness and evil of human nature. The root of the linguistic ambiguity in the story is analyzed.
