摘 要:Dear Editor, Liver exhibits robust regeneration following mechan- ical damage due to immediate proliferation of hepato- cytes. It has been recently reported that hepatocyte re- plenishment following liver damage could also occur via a reversible transition between hepatocytes and duct-like progenitor cells [1]. Hepatocyte-derived duct-like pro- genitor cells were observed to expand extensively in the presence of toxic insults and re-differentiate into func- tional hepatocytes upon cessation of injury [1].
