摘　　要：《天使不敢涉足的地方》是福斯特的第一部"意大利小说",亦是一部蕴含着丰富文化内涵和道德意蕴的作品。通过对小说文本的细读,解读福斯特如何在小说中再现英国爱德华时代的历史语境,并深入剖析社会变迁语境中人们的精神状况和心理特质,从而解读出这部作品的社会学意义。Where Angles Fear to Tread is the first Italian novel of E.M.Forster,which contains rich cultural connotations and deep moral implications.By carefully reading the novel,this paper tries to unscramble how Forster displayed the Edwardian historical context in his work and analyze the psychological traits and mental state of people during the period of social changes,so as to expound the sociological significance of the novel.
