摘　　要：亨利·詹姆斯后期代表作《鸽翼》多被解读为欧洲文化与美国文化的角逐,很少考察作品人物在文学场域中的地位及其与他人之间的权利关系的抗衡。聪明独立的凯特因不愿为攀升社会等级的阶梯而放弃自身追求爱情的权利,而不惜设计去帮助莫顿获取米莉的财产,藉此来获取经济资本,进而提升自身的社会地位,最终去获取自由选择的权利。凯特始终保持自己的独立意识却未坚守道德的本性,最终失去了宝贵的爱情,在米莉的阴影中终其一生。Henry James＇ late masterpiece, ＂Wings of the Dove＂ , was interpreted more as rivalry between European culture and American culture, but was seldom examined in the literary field. Few people try to study the status and the rights of different competitive actors. Kate, clever and independent, is reluctant to give herself the right to the pursuit of love and the promotion of the social hierarchy. She helps Morton get Millie＇s property in order to obtain the economic capital, so that they can improve their social status to make their own choices freely. However, she has always maintained his independence but has not adhered to the moral sense. Finally, she ends her investment road by losing her precious love, and forever lives in the shadow of Millie＇s kindness.
