摘　　要：英国会员制图书馆理念随着资本主义经济发展与教育的进步而发展起来,它是英国教育、社会进步与民主精神的一种体现。通过描述英国会员制的兴起、发展与衰退,概括了会员制对图书馆产生的作用,总结了会员制图书馆形成的理论成果。The concept of membership library in the UK, and developing with the progress of capitalist economy and education, which reflects the British education, social progress and democracy. This paper firstly describes the rising and recession of British membership system, secondly reflects the membership function which produces to the library and finally sums up the theories of the membership library.
