With the upgrading of the electric power system, the span of transmission lines is becoming larger and larger, which leads to the increasing proportion of the wires. The influence of the conductors on the dynamic characteristics of the transmission tower can not be ignored, which will affect the dynamic response of the transmission tower under the action of earthquake or wind load. In order to study the influence, the fine models of transmission tower and transmission line system were established based on the general finite element software ANSYS. By comparing the vi- bration modes and natural frequencies of the two models, the influence of the conductors on the dynamic characteristics of the transmission tower was studied. In addition, through changing the horizontal span of the transmission line system, the relationship between the span and the dynamic characteristics of the tower was researched. The results showed that the transmission tower vibration frequency will be significantly reduced due to the existence of the conductors, and the horizontal span of the transmission lines is bigger, this phenomenon is more obvious.
