Objective To explore the value and the clinical effect of medical chemistry adhesivefor biological patch fixation inlaparoscopic transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) hernia repair. Methods Clinical data of 29 cases of inguinal hernia who underwent laparoscopic inguinal hernia repairwith medical chemistry adhesive for biological patch fixation from January 2014 to July 2015 in Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Postoperative complications and recurrences rate were recorded. Results Operations were completed successfully in all 29 cases and none was converted to open surgery. There were 2 patients suffered fever and 5 patients suffered scrotal seroma. There were no serious complications such as wound infection and intestinal obstruction after operation. All cases were followed-up for 18 to 36 months ( mean of 27 ± 5 months) without obvious chronic pain, foreign body sensation and recurrence. Conclusions Medical chemistry adhesive for biological patch fixation in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair is safe and feasible, and has the advantages of minimal invasion, few complications and good postoperative comfortable feeling, without increasing the risk of recurrence.
