摘　　要：本文讨论了《山海经》为"小说之最古者"观点的产生及发展。首先梳理了历代目录学著述中关于《山海经》著录的特点及其对后世小说著述的影响,其次辨析了历代关于《山海经》志怪性质的讨论,指出了《山海经》之于中国小说史的意义。This paper discusses the arising and developing of the view considering Shanhaijing （A Classic of Mountains and Seas） as the earliest fiction. It first traces the bibliographical records of this book in the his- tory and their influence on the fiction writing in later ages, then analyzes the discussions in the history on the mystery and supernatural features of this book, and finally points out the significance of this book in the history of Chinese fiction writing.
