摘　　要：今年8月,正是中信集团、光大集团、平安保险公司 三家角逐首家金融控股公司命悬一旦的时刻。而就在此时,一向低调的中信董事长王军,率先登上了8月20日出版的《财经》杂志的封面。他满面风霜。The August this year is the critical period for thethree competitors, China International Trust & Invest-ment Corporation (CITIC), PingAn Insurance Com-pany of China (PICC) and China Ever Bright Limited,in their race to become the first financial holdingcompany in China.Although PICC had not announcedit's plan to become a financial holding company untillast year.its ambition could be clearly seen if one hadstudied its IT platform. It is notable that in its thrust to become a financialholding company, PICC has chosen a different wayintegrating its supporting IT systems first.Horizontally,the platforms and data resources of its several subsidiarycompanies have been made exchangeable at different lev-els.Vertically, a e-sales supply chain from the productdevelopment on backstage to the front sales services hascome intoexistence, APICC's Square'hasemerged. Experts said that the experiencesof US and European financial firms show the break-through in effort to become financial holding is on themicro level of products and service rather than on themacro level of resource integration.PICC now begins micro-level,its envision may come true.
