摘　　要：威廉·莫里斯的《乌有乡消息》被视为世界近代史上最为出色的一部乌托邦小说。小说中的未来伦敦一改往日梦魇之城的形象,成为了一座城乡融合的理想城市,民主自由的生态城市,公平正义的可持续发展城市。莫里斯对理想城市的想象不仅为乌托邦文学传统增添了一道亮丽的自然生态风景,也在一定程度上影响了当下的社会主义生态文明建构。William Morris＇s News from Nowhere enjoys high reputation as the best Utopian novel in modem history, in which the future London is no more a city of nightmare as depicted before but a sustainable ideal city with integration of urban and rural areas as well as democracy and justice. Morris＇ imagination of the ecological Utopian city not only adds ecological features to the utopian literature tradition, but also provides vital importance to the construction of ecological civilization in China.
