摘　　要：瑞典著名艺术史学家奥斯瓦尔德·喜龙仁(Osvald Siren,图1)先生在20世纪早期来到中国,出于对东方艺术的追求和中国艺术的挚爱,在中国的北京和其他城市旅行数千公里,用照相机记录了大量的城市和建筑,成为早年探索中国建筑艺术的外国先驱者之一。回国后出版了一系列关于中国建筑、园林、雕刻艺术的著作,成为国际上公认的研究中国艺术的权威。本文主要回顾性论述了喜龙仁先生当年在北京及其他城市进行的建筑考察活动以及他对中国建筑研究的重要贡献。Mr. Osvald Siren was a famous Swedish art historian and this year is just the 50th anniversary of his death. Being a memorial research paper, it retrospectively reviewed Mr. Siren＇s works of investigation and researches to the architectural heritage of China along with Beijing. Due to the pursuit of Oriental arts and love of Chinese architectural art, Siren came to China in the early 20th century, being traveled thousands of miles and recorded a lot of cities and buildings with his camera, and later become one of the foreign pioneers who were devoting themselves to the exploration of Chinese arts in the early of the 20th century. After returning his homeland, he published several books on Chinese arts of architecture, gardens and sculpture, become the master recognized by the international community in the area of the Chinese art. Today Mr. Siren＇s academic achievements could be regarded both the most valuable archives of architectural history, and a great contribution to the conservation of the architectural heritage in China.
