The significant spatial correlations of economic development and technique choice of provinces are found through calculating the Moran's I index using the panel data of 31 provinces of China from 1995 to 2015. The relationships between economic growth, technique choice index and the per-capita labor output are discussed through constructing the spatial panel models containing both spatial lag and spatial error. The research shows that there is the polarization characteristics of spatial aggregation in the level of economic development and technique choice index. The most of the eastern provinces locate in high-high agglomeration regions while the central provinces in low-low agglomeration regions. Generally speaking, the technique choice index has a significant positive effect on the economic development of each province. The economic promotion effects on the central provinces with moderate capital level are stronger than that of the eastern and western regions, while the technique choice in western areas has a significant spatial spillover effect. The effects of technique choice on economic growth are different in different periods.
