文本推演:科幻小说《华氏451》中的西方社会前景

摘　　要：反乌托邦科幻小说《华氏451》从政治、经济、文化等各个角度对西方社会前景进行了推演与批判。通过科幻小说特有的夸张与超验叙事,作家告诉读者,不受约束的绝对民主制度会引发多数人暴政的产生;高科技催生了消费主义的汹涌浪潮,导致人际关系淡漠,形成离散社会;社会文化氛围在不断退化,人们失去了自由精神,甘愿成为景观社会中被任意操控的看客。《华氏451》使得我们对人类前途的可能性有了更清醒的认识,展现了伟大文学作品所具有的忧患意识和警示作用。Fahrenheit 451,a dystopian science fiction, simulates and criticizes the prospects of Western society from political, economic and cultural perspectives. Via the exaggerated and surreal narrative unique to science fiction,its writer tells us that the absolute democracy will run into a tyranny of the majority;the high technology brings about the consumerism tides,causes alienation among people,and produces a scattering so- ciety ;the cultural atmosphere keeps degrading so that people,having lost their free minds,are willing to be- come spectators in a spectacle society. Fahrenheit 451 leads us to foresee the possibilities of human future, and demonstrates the anxieties and warnings shared among great literary works.
