摘　　要：作为一本通史类著作,伯纳德·施瓦茨的《美国最高法院史》特别注重"大法官"这一角色在美国最高法院中的重要作用。全书基本以大法官为中心,以重要案件为线索,按照时间脉络叙述美国最高法院的源起与发展,尤其突出其不可忽视的、主要作为"政治机构"的性质。As a book of general history, Bernard Schwartz＇ s A History of the Supreme Court stresses the significance of ＂Associate Justices＂ in the Supreme Court of America. The book presents a chronological description of the origin and development of associate justices based on the major legal cases involved and points out associate justices functioning as political institution.
