后现代主义视角下的《玛丽·考克伦》

摘　　要：舍伍德·安德森以塑造"畸人"形象而著称,其作品一般被视为"现代主义"的典范,然而,其在《玛丽·考克伦》一书中所塑造的主人公玛丽的形象却体现出鲜明的"后现代性"。本文力图通过对《玛丽考·克伦》一书的话语观以及玛丽坎坷的心路历程的分析来说明这部作品的后现代性。玛丽坚强、独立性格及追求自由、自我批判和自我超越的精神,是与安德森笔下以往的"畸人"形象完全相反的"新女性"形象,是其后现代主义思想的集中表现。Sherwood Anderson was famous for depicting the ＂grotesques＂ and his words are acknowledged as the perfect example of ＂modernity＂. However, the image of protagonist Mary embodies the vivid ＂post-modernity ＂in the book Mary views on discourse in this book and Karen. This essay tries to interpret her frustrating mental journey. Mary＇s the post-moderuity through the spirit of perseverance, indepen- dence, free will,self-criticism and self-surpass serves as the entirely opposite ＂new-woman＂ image with the usual image of the ＂grotesques＂ portrayed by Anderson and the ＂new woman＂ image mirrors his post-modernity.
