In order to solve the problems slow recovery and growth of the livestocks after breedingin the way of long - term drylot feeding, in Hulun Buri Grassland, the effects of supplementary feeding on the growth status of Hulun Buff short tailed sheep was studied in this paper. Eight similar pastures were selected in Evenki Hulun Buir grassland pastoral area , including 3 pastures which were not supplementary feeding and 5 pastures were supplementary feeding. The results showed that supplementary feeding improve ewe daily weight gain in different age signally (P 〈0. 05), the biggest daily weight gain was happened in the age of 12 - 18 month which ranched to 33.50 ±4. 87g/ sheep/d. The weight gain decreased with the age increased. Supplementary feeding improve the lamb growing rate significantly ( P 〈 0.05 ) , and the daily weight gain of male higher than the female ( P 〈 0. 05 ). The biggest weight gain of male is 233.53 ± 1.84g/sheep/d. There was a significant quadratic equation relationship between daily weight gain and birth weight at experiment and control. In a word, supplementary feeding after breeding is good for lamb growth later.
