摘 要:唐朝与日本传世文献中的渤海"首领"是学术界讨论的焦点之一,但已有研究在方法论方面存在误区。"首领"在封贡秩序的语境中,主要是用于指称四夷社会的习用语汇,带有鲜明的立场性和指向性。唐朝、日本、渤海三方文献记述的渤海"首领"记述立场不一,其指涉对象并非同一范畴,并不能如实地记述渤海地方社会之状况。渤海"首领"的话语是古代东亚世界各方在华夷分野语境之下,能动地塑造自我中心立场的表现。The connotation of "Chieftain"of Bohai state in ancient literatures of Tang Dynasty and Japan is one of the focuses of academic debate,but there are some methodological misunderstanding in the existing knowledge. In the context of tributary system,"chieftain"is mainly used to refer to the conventional political status of barbarian societies with distinct standpoint and directionality. Since the standpoint from which to describe the word "Chieftain"of Bohai is different in the literatures of Tang,Japan and Bohai,its referent object doesn't belong to the same category,therefore,it could not record the authentic situation of Bohai society. The discourse of "Chieftain"of Bohai represents the respective egocentric position of ancient East Asia world in the context of Hua-Yi distinction.
