Objective To study the effect of anterior and posterior internal fixation in the treatment of thoracolumbar spine fractures in adults. Methods A total of 100 adults with thoracolumbar spine fractures were randomly divided into control group and experimental group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received posterior internal fixation for treatment, and the experimental group received anterior internal fixation for treatment. Comparison were made on clinical efficacy, Cobb angle and height of vertebral injury before and after treatment, and occurrence of complications in two groups. Results The experimental group had significantly higher total effective rate as 94.00% than 68.00% in the control group, and the difference had statistical significance (P〈O.05). The experimental group had better Cobb angle and height of vertebral injury after treatment than the control group, and their difference had statistical significance (P〈0.05). The experimental group had obviously lower incidence of complications than the control group, and the difference had statistical significance (P〈0.05). Conclusion Anterior internal fixation shows significant effect in the treatment of thoracolumbar spine fractures in adults, and it has high clinical promotion value.
