《山羊或谁是西尔维娅》动物形象的生态主义解读

摘　　要：爱德华·阿尔比的戏剧作品取题广泛,大多涉及家庭、爱情、道德、社会等各个方面。在其作品中,他常巧妙借助一系列意蕴丰富的动物形象,深入探讨人与社会、自然以及人与人之间的复杂关系,并犀利地直面社会问题。从生态理论的视角出发,着重分析阿尔比的代表作《山羊或谁是西尔维娅》中最典型的动物形象——山羊,以揭示其蕴含的象征意义,进一步探讨作者通过作品所展现的人类生存状态,从而深入发掘出阿尔比借助山羊原型隐含在作品中的对人类生态文明日益恶化的担忧以及对生态和谐的期望。Edward Albee＇s plays widely refer to many aspects such as family,love,moral and social issues. Among his works,he often discusses the complex relations between human,social and nature as well as confronting social issues directly through the masterly account of animal image. This thesis emphasizes on the most typical animal image——goat in Albee ＇s master work, ＂ The Goat ＂ through the perspective of Ecocriticism,which aims to reveal it＇s symbolic meanings and further investigates human＇s living conditions that involves Albee＇s deep concern about human＇s worsening eco-environment as well as his expectation of ecological harmony.
