摘　　要：裘开明任职汉和图书馆期间,在大力提高馆藏规模和品质的基础上,积极进行图书分类、编目的本土化探索与实践,使哈佛大学汉学文献资源实现了专业化和系统化管理。同时,他还积极推广富有中国特色的目录学成果,促进了汉学研究的发展。As the director of Chinese-Japanese Library of Harvard University,Alfred K’aiming Ch’iu actively explored the indigenization of classification and indexing system of books on the base of improving the size and quality of the collections,which made the Chinese literature resources of the library realize the specialized and systematic management.At the same time,he actively promoted this bibliography method with Chinese characteristics to U.S.A and EU,which promoted the rapid development of sinology study.
