摘　　要：伊丽莎白·盖斯凯尔是19世纪英国著名的女性小说家,《克兰福镇》是其重要代表作。这部小说是运用"越位"写作方法的经典之作:通过女性越位担当男性角色以及具有女性气质的男性形象的塑造,深度启蒙了两性关系的和谐;通过描写不同阶级成员的身份越位与变迁,刻画了当时阶级阶层关系的现状与变化趋势;通过各群体间的帮扶救助与伦理越位,讴歌了脉脉温情的乡村社会。这些修辞格的运用艺术再现了盖斯凯尔夫人建构"新克兰福镇"的道德理想与美德乌托邦的情结。Elizabeth Gaskell is a well-known British women novelist in the 19 th century. Cranford,one of her important works,is a classical work that employs the writing technique ＂offside＂. Females are shaped to undertake the social roles of males and men are shaped to possess the disposition of women,which profoundly enlightens the harmonious relations between man and woman. People from different social classes together witness the offside and changes in their social identity,which describes the social strata relations and change trends at that time. In addition,there is also an offside in the assistance among various social groups; which eulogizes the sweet country society. All these artistically reproduces Mrs. Gaskell＇ s moral ideal to build a ＂New Cranford＂,as well as her obsession for virtue Utopia.
