摘　　要：Shaxi Ancient Town is situated in Jianchuan, a county in l）ali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, in southwestern China＇s Yunnan Province. The town dates back to the late Spring and Autumn period （770-476 BC）. It has a history of more than 2,400 years. Shaxi in 2005 was named one of China＇s historical and cultural towns by the State Administration of Cultural tteritage. The ancient dwellings and folk customs of the Bai ethnic group have attracted tourists to Shaxi.
