[Objective] To explore the practical value of emergency group mode in the salvage of critically ill patients,[Method]1) Change the traditional salvage mode with a newone that centers on an emergency care group consisting of senior nurses and doctors.2) Compare the traditional salvage mode and emergency group mode in the salvage of critically ill patients from January to December,2014 and from January to December,2015 regarding the time cost, the success rate and death rate, the satisfaction of patients, their families and doctors with nurses' cooperation, and the occurrence rate of medical disputes.[Result]The time required for effective salvage (from respiratory or cardiac arrest to stable vital signs) and the time from confirmed diagnose to delivery to corresponding departments were shortened obviously with emergency group mode, and the differences between the two groups were significant. With emergency group mode, there was a significant increase of success rate and anoutstanding drop of death rate; both patients and doctors had an obviously increased satisfaction with nurses' cooperation; and there was a dramatic decline in the occurrence of medical disputes, with significant differences between the two groups.[Conclusion]The emergency group mode can help shorten the time required for effective salvage, increase success rate of salvage and decrease death rate, improve patients and doctors' satisfaction with nursesand reduce the occurrence of medical disputes.
