大都会歌剧院开季《诺尔玛》:三位女高音各具特色

摘　　要：大都会歌剧院这两年的营销主题是＂必须聆听的声音＂（The voice must be heard）,这个口号有着多重意义,比如表示人声是歌剧的精髓,或是要听到没有加工的原声得进剧院,以及人都会有着顶尖的声乐演唱家不容错过,等等。大都会一直都是一个以歌手为重的歌剧院,明星歌手层出不穷,本季开场的《诺尔玛》（Norma）就是证明。这个公认极为难唱的角色,大都会本季一共排出三位女高音,The Metropolitan Opera opened its new season with Norma,that pinnale of bel canto opera. It had a stellar cast: Sondra Radvainovsky and Marina Rebeka both sang the title role,and Joyee DiDoato sang A dalgisa in the first round. They all sounded magnificent.The two wronged pricstesses will be taken on by the powerhouse team of Angela Meade and Jamie Barton in a later run. If only the production value were on par with the singging.This very traditional production looks ugly and gloomy. It feels under-thought and under-directed,conveying nothing of the complex and comflicted emotions of the characters.
