摘　　要：世界性的全民读书活动中,日本民间创造了一种新颖的形式——荐书比赛,不失为一种有推广价值的活动。其规则设置合情合理,推荐标准严格科学,参加者广泛,过程简单明晰,作用有目共睹,效果令人瞩目,并且在实践中积累了丰富的经验;当然,也有一些问题需要解决。荐书比赛将公众阅读活动推向一个新的阶段,其成功的探索可供业内同行借鉴。People serving in the libraries at home and abroad all ponder over one question -- how to position themselves as the leading roles in the public reading activities. Against the backdrop of knowledge economy, libraries are actively exploring the ways to arouse the interests of the public in reading, to guide the directions of reading, and eventually to facilitate the enhancement of civilization. ＂The Competition of Book Recommendation by the Readers＂ in Japan is a very distinctive and unique activity, which pushes public reading to a new height and from which we should draw experience.
