摘　　要：安·贝蒂是当代美国文坛颇具影响力的女作家,"极简主义"小说的重要代表人物之一,其短篇小说《大大的外部世界》被学界认为深受欧内斯特·海明威《雨中的猫》的影响。安·贝蒂别具匠心地运用互文性手法,既从前文本中获取意义,同时又对现文本进行一定的改变,实现了文学传统的传承与创新。本文将两个文本置于互文性的视域下,从主题展现、角色关系、空间隐喻三个维度进行解读与分析。As a leading minimalist writer, Ann Beattie has exerted a profound influence on contemporary American literature. ＂The Big Outside World＂, one of her rep- resentative short stories, is inspired by Ernest Hemingway＇s ＂Cat in the Rain＂, as many literary critics have stated. By adopting the strategy of intertexuality, Beattie inherits some precious literary techniques from Hemingway while making many ingenious changes. This paper aims to compare these two short stories in terms of thematic concerns, charac- ter relations and spatial metaphors to study their intertexuality.
