美国高等工程教育的借鉴与启示

摘　　要：美国的高等工程教育质量首屈一指。笔者通过实地考察普渡大学(PURDUE)、伊利诺伊大学香槟分校(UIUC)和普瑞特艺术学院(PRATT)三所各具特色的美国高校,形成四点借鉴与启示:(1)独特个性是美国大学的鲜明标识;(2)教书育人是大学教授的天然使命;(3)注重实践是工程教育的生存命脉;(4)强化管理是学生发展的重要保障。The quality of higher engineering education in the United States is the highest in the world. Through on-the-spot inspections to three distinctive American universities,namely,Purdue University,University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign（UIUC） and Pratt Institute,this paper summarizes four referencing implications,namely,1） American universities pay special attention to their uniqueness; 2） it is the professors＇ instinctive missions to educate and cultivate students; 3） attaching great importance to practice is the lifeblood of engineering education; 4） strengthened management is an important guarantee for students＇ development.
