摘　　要：《大路尽头》是美国后现代作家约翰·巴斯的早期代表作之一。小说以主人公雅各布·霍纳在生活中面临的种种选择困惑为基础,围绕霍纳与乔·摩根及其妻子之间的三角关系展开叙事。小说荒诞的情节和人物对白恰是作家揭示生命存在、宣扬婚姻道德的独具匠心之处。这种独特的悖谬叙事隐蔽了主题,阐发了深刻的伦理思考。The End of the Road is one of the masterpieces of American postmodern writer John Bath. Based on the hero Jacob Hornet＇ s various confusions in making choices in life, the novel seeks to narrate the triangular relationship among Horner, Joe Morgan and his wife. The novel＇ s absurd plot and paradoxical dialogue of characters show the author＇ s ingenuity in revealing the existence of individual and publicizing the moral of marriage. This unique and paradoxical narrative covers up the theme, expounding profound ethical thinking.
