摘　　要：顾名思义,论文集《文化研究在印度》展示了印度学界文化研究的发展现状。学者们从地方语言、印度文学(含民间文学)、通俗文化、大众传媒、戏剧表演等多角度入手,探讨印度性、种姓、原住民、身份政治、女性地位等主题,其间涉及后殖民理论、贱民研究、(后)马克思主义、(后)民族主义等理论论争,体现了文化研究与文学研究、语言学、历史学、人类学、政治学、大众传播学等学科之间展开对话的努力。印度学者意图通过文化研究来发现、确立印度性,渴望文化研究能在英语文学研究之外发展为一门独立学科。在全球化、数字化时代,印度文化研究未来的发展方向有待进一步探索。Cultural Studies in India discusses the development of cultural studies in India. Scholars in this book probe into multiple themes including Indian-ness, caste, indigenous people, identity politics, women＇s social status and others in the light of various perspectives such as vernacular languages, India literature （including folk literature）, popular culture, mass media, theatrical performance and so on. This anthology deals with contemporary debates and interpretations of post-colonial theory, subaltern studies, （post-） Marxism and （post-） nationalism, showing their attempts to conduct inter-disciplinary dialogues between cultural studies and other disciplines such as literary studies, linguistics, historiography, anthropology, politics and mass communications. Indian scholars intend to discover and construct Indian- ness by virtue of cultural studies while establishing this field as an independent discipline. The prospects of Indian cultural studies need further explorations in the context of the globalized and digitalized world.
