我们需要怎样的学科名——从于良芝《图书馆情报学概论》说起

摘　　要：于良芝教授的《图书馆情报学概论》是一部重要的图书馆学和情报学的融合之作,但其选择"图书馆情报学"这一学科名称来对应LIS是较为保守的。文章通过从直观印象、词汇选择、词汇意义、学科核心内容和学科发展等层面对学科名称选词进行探讨,发现在汉语语境中,现有学科名无法完整涵盖和准确表达LIS学科的研究任务和研究领域,而且对改善社会认知、提高学科知名度并无益处。Introduction to Library and Information Science written by Dr. YU Liangzhi,is a significant work ofLibrary Science and Information Science（LIS） . However,it is conservative to adopt this Chinese subject name forLIS. By exploring the selection of Chinese name for LIS from the aspects of visual impression,lexical meaning,core subject content,and subject development,this article finds out that,in Chinese context,current Chinesenames for LIS cannot completely cover and accurately express the research missions and fields of the subject, andthen bring no benefits to improve the social cognition and the popularity of LIS.
