摘　　要：随着信息环境的改变,图书馆编目的边缘化趋势已经不可逆转,但与元数据共存亡的图书馆仍然需要编目,元数据的编制与应用拓展是图书馆服务能力提升的基础。因此,编目馆员要根据图书馆的现状,开拓工作新领域,提升核心竞争力,适时转型成为图书馆事业积极的参与者和贡献者。With the changes of information environment,marginalization of library cataloguing is inevitable,but the library living together with Metadata still needs cataloguing. Metadata compilation and application expansion are the basis of promoting service ability of libraries. Therefore,cataloguing librarians need to develop new fields,promote core competitiveness,and make timely transition to become active participants and contributors to the library cause according to the present situation of libraries.
