Objective To explore the impact of peer education on the dialysis effect of maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods A total of 120 cases of patients who received maintenance hemodialysis were selected as research objects. All cases were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, with 60 cases in each group. All patients received conventional nursing; in addition, the experimental group received peer education through WeChat sharing group. SF-36 scale was used to evaluate patients' quality of life, and patients' clinical test indicators after dialysis and quality of life were compared between two groups. Results After dialysis, the levels of blood potassium, phosphorus, and whole parathyroid hormone of experimental group were significantly lower than those of control group, and the urea clearance rate and serum albumin level were significantly higher than those of control group (P〈0.05). Except for bodily pain, the scores of other dimensions of SF-36 of experimental group were all significantly higher than those of control group (P 〈0.05). Conclusions Peer education can effectively remind patients of avoiding the risks of maintenance hemodialysis through controllable factors.
