摘　　要：古代史家怀着强烈的使命感著史,是中国先民历史意识高度发达的突出体现。司马迁著《史记》以＂通古今之变＂;杜佑为寻找＂匡拯之方＂而著成《通典》;司马光以＂关国家盛衰,系生民休戚＂作为主编《资治通鉴》的宗旨;班固父子、李延寿父子等两代人呕心沥血著史;近代史家魏源等人满怀爱国义愤,把著史与御侮图强事业结合起来：这一切无不为推进中国史学的高度发达和丰富中华文化优良传统作出重要建树,也是留给后人的一笔宝贵精神遗产,值得我们深入发掘与总结。Ancient historians had a strong sense of mission to write history. Sima Qian＇s purpose was to know changes of ancient and modern times when he wrote Historical Records. Sima Guang thought that his historical work of History as a Mirror was closely related with the rise and fall of the country and people＇s life. In modern times Wei Yuan has a strong passion for love of country and combined writing history with combating the foreign aggression and making China strong. These historians made great contributions to the development of historiography and enrichment of fine tradition of Chinese culture. They are invaluable wealth left to us,which are well worth developing and summing up.
