系统功能语言学的“选择”思想  

On the notion of“choice”in Systemic Functional Linguistics

摘　　要：系统功能语法中的"选择"被视为意义表达的核心机制,但学界对其习焉不察,阐释不足。本文对该概念进行系统梳理后发现:1)"选择"有系统选项、选择过程和选择结果等多重含义;2)该思想发源于对语言单位之间的纵聚合关系的描写;3)"选择"建构起语言系统和语言实例之间的桥梁,是意义潜势进行示例化的过程。对"选择"思想的阐释有助于语言本体以及语言产出过程等方面的研究。In systemic functional grammar,the notion of"choice"is considered as the core mechanism for expressing meaning.However,the very nature of"choice"has not been explicitly explored in the literature available.A comprehensive review of the notion indicates that:1)the meaning of"choice"is three-fold:choice as option,choice as process and choice as product;2)the origin of the notion stems from the study of the paradigmatic relation of language components;and 3)the notion of"choice"functions as a bridge between the language system and the instantiation of language.Research on"choice"will contribute to a better understanding of language itself and the process of language production.
