摘　　要：公共图书馆开展学术研究工作是公共文化事业政策制定的需要,是公共图书馆事业发展的需要,是图书情报学研究发展的需要。目前,公共图书馆开展学术研究工作存在体制机制不健全、工作内容不深入、工作效果不明显等问题。湖南图书馆成立独立的学术研究部门、丰富学术工作内涵、扩大学术工作影响力,为公共图书馆的学术研究工作提供了有效的例证。公共图书馆应完善机构建设,夯实各项工作的保障基础;注重工作内涵,强化研究工作的扎实开展;加大宣传力度,全面提升工作效果与影响力,以开展促进自身事业发展的学术研究工作。It is the necessity of public culture policy formulating, public library development, and library and information science research development to carry out academic research in public libraries. Nowadays, there exsit problems, such as not well developed mechanism, further work needs to do, and less obvious effect, etc. Hunan Library is a successful example in academic research in public libraries. Hunan Library Sets up an independent academic research deparment, enriches academic research connotation, and expand the influence of academic research. Public libraries should perfect department construction, found basic security, attach importance on the connotation, strengthen the implementation, pay attention to publicity, promote effect and influence, so as to promote academic research development.
