摘　　要：茗山法师是现当代杰出的盐城籍高僧,一生爱国爱教,备受推崇和敬仰。抗日战争时期,茗山法师发表文章宣传佛教救国思想,投身抗日救亡活动;建国前后,茗山法师积极参与复兴佛教工作,注重僧才培养;改革开放后,积极践行太虚大师"人间佛教"思想,主持寺庙的重建与修复,热心社会慈善事业。茗山法师所倡导的佛学思想及其实践活动,推动了中国佛教业的发展。Master Mingshan is an outstanding master in contemporary China,devoting his life to patriotism and Buddhism,respected and remembered by numerous disciples and fellow countrymen.He published articles to summon strength to fight against the Japanese bandits,and cultivated the talents for the resurrection of Buddhism in China around the 1950s.After the reform and opening up,he carried out the idea of Secular Buddhism,by presiding the reconstruction and refurbishing of temples,and devoting himself to charity.His Buddhist thoughts and conducts have greatly promoted the development of Buddhism in China.
