Objective To explore the clinical effect of PDCA in nosocomial infection management in unaccompanied neonatal wards. Methods A total of 660 newborns received from unaccompanied neonatal ward in our hospital from March 2016 to March 2017 were selected and divided into study group and reference group according to the order of their visits. The reference group was given routine nursing mode, the study group was given PDCA model; neonatal hospital infections were observed and compared. Results The passing rates of hand hygiene, sterilized articles, disinfectant, bottle, pacifier and air in the study group were significantly higher than those in the reference group (P 〈 0.05). The incidence of nosocomial infections the incidence rate (2.42%) was lower than that of the reference group (5.15%) (χ2=4.557, P 〈 0.05). Conclusion The implementation of PDCA mode in unaccompanied neonatal ward can ensure the hygiene of all the items in ward and reduce the incidence of nosocomial infection.
