摘　　要：关于我国图书馆参考咨询工作的开端存有不同论断。20世纪初期,我国图书馆参照美国图书馆参考咨询工作模式设立参考咨询部。文章从美国图书馆参考咨询工作早期产生的背景、定义及界定的标准入手,系统梳理了清华学校图书馆参考部设立前后的历史资料,澄清现有研究中界定有误或历史资料不清的观点和结论,确立清华学校图书馆为我国图书馆参考咨询工作之开端的历史事实。There are two different viewpoints on the genesis of library reference service in China. In the early 20th Century, reference service in China was set up following with the American model. This paper started from the context, definition and criteria of reference services in the United States, through system- atically sorting out the historical facts of the establishment of the reference department of Tsinghua School Library before and after, clarified the definition of the existing research and historical facts unclear, and concluded that Tsinghua University Library launched reference service firstly in our country.
