PAM4模块在DWDM大数据中心互联系统的应用研究

摘　　要：随着大数据、云计算时代的来临,人们对于数据传输速率有着越来越高的要求,使用高阶的PAM4调制技术在相同信号带宽下可以传输更多的数据。本文验证了基于PAM4(四阶脉冲幅度调制)技术开发的QSFP28光模块(4×56G/s)在4 Tb/s的城市数据中心互联系统的特性。测试了该传输系统在80km传输距离上的工作性能,并且在该系统上测量了不同类型光纤的色散和光学非线性效应。Nowadays, in the era of big data and cloud computing, improving the data transmission rate has become a critical issue. High-order modulation technique, e.g. PAM4 modulation, provides a solution to achieve more data transmission rate while keeping the same bandwidth of optical fiber. We perform the first real-time demonstration of a 4-Tb/s metro-DCI system with commercial QSFP28 optical modules, equipped with 40×100G dual wavelength 56-Gb/s PAM4. We evaluate the system performance over 80 km transmission distance comprehensively and quantify the system tolerance to the chromatic dispersion and optical nonlinearity over a wide diversity of fiber types.
