略萨小说《天堂在另外那个街角》对西方文明的批判

摘　　要：秘鲁-西班牙作家巴尔加斯·略萨于2003年出版小说《天堂在另外那个街角》，通过弗洛拉·特里斯坦和保罗·高更这两位19世纪历史人物追求理想的故事，重新书写了乌托邦主题，藉此在新世纪的起点上反思西方文明。小说对西方文明的批判指向性爱与性别观念、宗教与权力体制、现实主义美学等各个方面，寄托了作家对人类文明所抱有的宽容对待差异、实现充分的个人解放的理想。In 2003, the Peru-Spanish writer Vargas Llosa published his second novel in the 21s＇ century, i.e. The Way to Paradise, which told two stories of the pursuit of the ideal, with Flora Tristan and Paul Gau- guin as their protagonists. The theme of Utopia reappeared in this novel as an intention of reflection on the Western civilization on the threshold of the new century. The critique to the Western civilization in the novel focused on the conception of sex and gender, the religion-power institution, the aesthetic of realism, etc., and transmitted the author＇s expectations of the human civilization： more tolerance to the difference and the achievement of a full liberation of the individuality.
