摘　　要：城镇化不仅是西部地区建设的主要职责和重点,更是持续扩大内需,有效推动经济建设的先决条件。城镇化作为一种社会和经济现象,它不仅受到经济建设的制约,也受到制度、社会文化等诸多因素的广泛影响。因此,当下就整个城镇化的建设机制而言,拥有特殊性和复杂性。文章概述西部地区范围界定及城镇化概况,阐述西部地区城镇化滞后的制约因素,包括环境因素、人口素质和数量,积极探究了西部地区城镇化的系统构筑的重要途径是外部力量的驱动力、内部市场环境的凝聚力、农村地区的延伸力与产业结构优化的引导力。Urbanization, not only is the main focus of the construction of the western region, but also the prerequisite for economic construction and expanding domestic demand. As a social and economic phenomenon, urbanization is not only restricted by economic construction, but also affected by many factors, such as system, social culture and so on. Therefore, at present, the construction mechanism of the whole urbanization, has its particularity and complexity. The authors summarizes the definition and scope of the western region urbanization situation, expounds the factors restricting the urbanization of western region lags behind, including environmental factors, population quality and quantity, the analysis of urbanization in western region and limiting factors, actively explores the important way of urbanization in western region are the extemal driving force, the internal force from market environment, the extension of cohesion force in rural areas and optimization maidance of indn^trial ~tmeh,r,~
