摘　　要：探讨了古代藏书楼与近代图书馆表现迥异的原因。从社会生产力发展水平的角度说明了古今藏书场所差异极大的原因。古代藏书楼呈现的自私封闭特征其实是当时社会经济水平落后的产物,近代图书馆模式的维持成本太高,不切实际,是导致古代近代藏书楼没能发展为近代意义上的图书馆的根本原因,但两者并没有本质区别。The author explores the reasons for the different performance of the ancient library and the modem librar- y. From the perspective of the level of development of social productive forces the article introduces reasons for great differences of the ancient and modem collections. The selfishness of the ancient library is the product of the backwardness of the social and economic level. The maintenance cost of the modem library model is too high and unrealistic. It is the fundamental result of the development of the library in modem times. But there is no essential difference between the two.
