我们应该怎样研究史学史?——格奥尔格·伊格尔斯先生去世之际的反思  

How Do We Improve the Study of Historiography:Reflections on the Legacy of Georg G.Iggers(1926-2017)

摘　　要：国际史学史名家格奥尔格·伊格尔斯先生于2017年11月26日去世,这是史学史领域的一大损失。伊格尔斯生前与本文作者有师生情谊,并合作出版了包括《全球史学史》在内的著作。在伊格尔斯逝世之际,作者对史学史研究的今后走向,就两个方面提出了自己的看法。第一是如何具有全球的眼光,平等地对待世界各地文明历史意识的不同表现,克服将书写的历史作为史学史研究唯一对象的偏见。第二是提倡史学史研究的时代感和批判意识,从时代变化的角度探究历史研究和写作的变化,并对以往的历史书写,具有批评的态度,以求促进历史学的进步。Georg G.Iggers’passing on November 26,2017 undoubtedly is a major loss to the study of historiography,as he was widely recognized an authority in the field.The author of this article not only studied with Iggers but also collaborated with him on several projects,including coauthoring A Global History of Modern Historiography（2008;2017）.Reflecting on Iggers’sterling career,he here offers his suggestions for the improvement of historiographical study.Frist,he believes that to take a truly global view of historiography,one should embrace all forms of manifestation of historical consciousness among various civilizations,not confine the study to the examination of written works.Second,he advocates that historiographers adopt a critical,not celebratory,stance toward previous and current historical scholarship by analyzing and critiquing whether and how the changes of history are reflected in historical writings.
