摘　　要：薇拉·凯瑟是20世纪上半叶美国著名的女作家,作品承载着19世纪末期美国中西部开拓者的沉甸甸的文化信息,受到评论家广泛关注。发表于1930年的短篇小说《邻居罗西基》塑造了一位老农罗西基艺术形象,是凯瑟创作的一个里程碑。凯瑟在小说中通过构建城市地理空间和乡村地理空间,反映作品主题思想,推动故事情节发展,形成独特叙事结构,显现出创作心理。Willa Cather is a famous American writer in the first half of 20 thcentury whose works carry the cultural information of the western pioneers in the 1890 s and attract the attention from critics. The short story Neighbor Rosicky,published in1930,embodies the image of an old farmer Rosicky and is considered to be a landmark of Cather＇s writing. With the help of constructing the city geographical space and countryside geographical space,Cather demonstrates the theme,develops the plots and makes special narrative structure in the short story.
