Objective: To compare and analyze the effectiveness of operative and nonoperative treatment for displaced midclavicular fractures in adults. Methods: From April 2013 to April 2017,60 patients with displaced mid-clavicular fractures were selected and treated differently according to their own willingness. They were divided into operative group and nonoperative group,30 cases in each group. The curative rate, shoulder function score and complications were compared between the two groups. Results: The excellent rates of the operative group and the nonoperative group were 90. 00% and 63. 33%,respectively,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P〈0. 05); the shoulder joint activity, functional activity intensity, muscle strength, pain perception scores and the total score of the operative group were significantly higher than those of the nonoperative group(P〈0. 05); and the complication incidence of the operative group was significantly lower than that of the nonoperative group(P〈0. 05). Conclusion: The operative treatment for adults with displaced mid-clavicular fractures is more conducive to the recovery of patients, decrease the incidence of complications and reduce the probability of fracture deformity, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
