CITIC Group was acutely aware of the security opportunities that came along with China's overseas presence and bought an aviation and logistics services company operating out of East Africa. It changed the name to Frontier Services Group and entered into the national security services industry on the frontlines of the "Belt and Road".As international security companies step into the arena, the financial landscape of Chinese companies operating overseas is gradually coming to light.At present, the overseas business of Chinese-funded enterprises covers more than 160 countries across the globe, with investment in security constituting a USD 100 billion market.
