Affected by the cognitive level of geospace and the expression of geographic information, the subjective understanding of geographic information researchers will vary in the construction of geographic information ontologies based on knowledge service. As a result, ontologies created by different researchers for entities with the same name may differ in concept description, conceptual model, conceptual attribute, and so on, thus leading to different user understanding in the application of geographic information ontology and the phenomenon of geographic information ontology heterogeneity. Based on the needs and objectives of geospatial cognition, the differences of geospatial cognition are explored and the semantic heterogeneity is extracted by analyzing the geographical space cognition model and conceptual transmission and formal expression of geographic information ontology. The semantic heterogeneity analysis model of geographic information ontology is established based on spatial cognition, and the basic cause of semantic heterogeneity of geographic information ontology is studied.
