E-commerce of agricultural products is of great significance in promoting agricultural economic development and agriculture restructuring and upgrading.Ahhough the government frequently introduced policies to support the development of e-commerce of agricultural products, the low adoption has not been distinctly improved. It is important to understand the mechanism of firms' decision-making in adopting e-commerce.Based on the perspective of institutional theory, this study develops a model to analyze the impact of institutional pressure on the adoption of e- commerce by agricultural firms. The role of organizational innovativeness is jointly considered. The empirical results show that mimetic pressure, coercive pressure and normative pressure all have positive effects on firms' perceived benefit, with different margins.Normative pressure has a significantly negative impact on perceived barrier, while mimetic pressure and coercive pressure have no significant effect. Perceived benefit has significantly positive impact on the adoption of ecommerce of agricuhural products, while perceived barrier has no significant effect on the adoption of e-commerce of agricultural products.Perceived benefit plays a partial mediating role on the re- lationship between institutional pressure and adoption.
